Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day and I have made bright green, delicious, nutritious muffins for Emma and Freddie. Will they be eaten?! Nope!
This week’s brand new Wooby & Fotty release is “Noise Box!” It’s a little game to teach your kids about different musical instruments and the sounds they make. I can’t tell you what’s inside today’s Noise Box, but what I can tell you is that Fotty can SHRED. Find the video here.
This month is Spring Break for a lot of families, which means traveling with kids and cleverly disguised flasks. I’m gonna give you a tip – double, triple check, then 4 times check your seats.
We booked tickets to take Emma and Freddie on a cross-country trip to see their grandparents when they were a year and a half old. We very carefully picked our seats in back-to-back rows so we could easily pass things back and forth without disturbing other passengers, our number one priority, lest we be judged.
The day before our flight we got an email from the airline to notify us that our seats had changed. Not all of our seats- just Emma’s. She was moved to a different row in the back of the plane. BY HERSELF.
As you can imagine, my first thought was, “This is ridiculous! She can’t sit in the back of the plane by herself!” But my second thought was…. “Or can she?” What if I could sit by myself for the entire plane ride? I could sleep. Watch a movie. I could listen to a stranger try to strike up a conversation with Emma. “Are you traveling for business or pleasure?” Emma would GLARE.
Can you imagine someone getting to their aisle on the plane and looking over and seeing a baby in a car seat BY THEMSELVES. Chewing on a rubber key and smiling their way through a barrage of milk farts. All while her mother got to sit back and watch multiple episodes of Young Sheldon.
We called the airline to tell them it probably wasn’t a good idea for our eighteen-month-old daughter to sit alone on the plane, and the airline gave us a hard time! They said all they could do was move her to an aisle seat closer to us. We reiterated that she was eighteen months old. We were put on hold.
Eventually they did put us all back together. Which was, of course, their only real option. I watched nothing, I read nothing, but nobody barfed. So all in all, a win.
If you’re traveling soon, good luck. Check your seats. Download Wooby & Fotty on Spotify or these very fun coloring pages for the trip!
As always, if you have any questions, comments, concerns or life-changing travel tips please send them to hello@woobyandfotty.com.
Don’t forget the sunscreen.
